Good to know

The mid-market rate is the midpoint between the buy and sell price of a currency. It is the fairest reference for what your money is worth. This converter uses the European Central Bank's daily reference rates, published each working day around 16:00 CET.

Banks rarely pay you that rate. Most add a markup of 1–3% to the rate, on top of fixed wire and conversion charges, so the rupee amount credited is lower than the mid-market value.
